Curriculum Vitae

Albert Markovics begins his studies at the Faculty of Law and State Sciences of the University of Vienna (abs. iur. 1934; Dr. iur. 1935). After completing this study, he joined the Magistrate of the City of Vienna in 1934 and becomes a member of the 19th Magistrate. In March 1938, for political reasons, retired. He then worked in the private sector and later became the German Wehrmacht.

After the war, Albert Markovics will be rehabilitated as an official of the city of Vienna and as a result for the first elections on the 25th. November 1945 (so-called “Kathreins-Wahl”) in the then still existing Great-Vienna, which can be held without any condition. At the beginning of 1947, he will be appointed to the Federal Chancellery in the department 2 NS and shortly thereafter entrusted with the management of the same. This is responsible for the implementation of the so-called Prohibition Act, i.e. for the removal of NS-occupied persons in the state service.

After the completion of these appointments, Albert Markovics will be appointed Head of the Department of Human Rights in 1955 in the Federal Chancellery's personnel section. In 1970 he was appointed Head of Section and Head of Staff Section II of the Federal Chancellery. At the end of 1976 he retired.
